A Little Frontier History
When you visit Golden Hills Nursery you are visiting a piece of history!
The nursery was built on a piece of land that my grandparent’s homesteaded in the early 1900’s. The Paxtons arrived by stagecoach from Jerome, AZ, where my grandparents worked and were married. My grandfather was an underground miner and my grandmother worked in a hotel in Jerome. My mother and partner at the nursery, Ann Shirley, was born in Jerome. My family visited the “Wickedest Town in the West” this summer.

It’s Time to Plant Your Fall Garden!
Cooler temperatures make this the perfect time to plant a fall garden, improve landscaping and add some young pullets to your backyard farm.
With the high prices of food these days, it’s a great time to start growing your food. My fall inventory is expanding with new 2011 vegetable & flower seeds, as well as, onion, garlic and shallot sets. A larger selection of shade & fruit trees will arrive soon.
Fall is also the time to think about bare roots. From fruit trees, berries, grapes, shade & decorative trees to lilacs, wisteria and roses, there are lots of options for your backyard. Call or come by soon to place your pre-paid order. Bare roots are delivered in January 2011.
